A few years ago, I co-owned a thriving HR firm.
We were growing fast, hitting multi–six-figure revenue while helping local business owners create structure, hire great teams, and run their businesses more efficiently.

Behind the scenes, I was exhausted. My calendar ran my life. I was eating lunch at my desk, glued to my phone, and constantly trying to keep up with everyone else’s needs. My growing family got what was left of me at the end of the day — and it wasn’t much.

Then one winter day, everything came to a head.
I was driving my kids to urgent care in the snow, tears streaming down my face, because I had to reschedule another client meeting and I knew I couldn't keep going like this. I remember thinking, “I built this business for freedom and flexibility... so why do I feel trapped?”

That moment changed everything.

Stepping back was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made. After my daughter was hospitalized, I didn’t have a plan; I just knew we couldn’t keep living like that. My business partner and I had a tough conversation and worked for nearly a year to transition and phase me out of the day to day operations. I ultimately chose my family, my health, and a slower pace — even though it felt like failure at the time.

But in that quiet space remaining, something clicked. For years I was helping my clients find their freedom while unknowingly losing it myself.

They were taking vacations for the first time in years. Spending more time with their families. I thought, “What if that’s what I’m meant to do? Help people find freedom — without burning out like I did.”

I live in Colorado with my family of four where we love exploring forests and small mountain towns.

Outside of Untethered Boss, you can find me playing with my kids, trying my best to grow vegetables in the garden, or watching Is It Cake? (just don't ask me to bake one.)

We have books in every room and nook of our house, we love reading.

I believe laughter and blank space are business essentials.

I started Untethered Boss to help other entrepreneurs do what I wish I had known when I started: how to build a business that lets you breathe.

Do I have to have a big team for this to work?

Not at all. The tools and frameworks I teach work whether you have two employees or twenty. It’s about building structure that fits where you are—and grows with you.

What if I’m already overwhelmed—will this just be more on my plate?

I know you’re stretched thin. That’s why my tools are designed to give you clarity, not add clutter. But lasting freedom doesn’t come from a quick fix—it comes from putting in the right work. If you’re willing to take small, intentional steps, the change is worth it.

How is this different from other coaching or courses?

Most programs focus on marketing, sales, or automations. But here’s the truth: when you run a brick-and-mortar business with employees, the strategies that actually create freedom look very different. That’s my lane. I’ve been in the trenches and primarily served those owners, so I know firsthand that the heart of the business isn’t just systems—it’s leadership, team empowerment, and sustainable structure. Because real freedom doesn’t come from automations alone—it comes from people and leadership.
